Entry Criteria
Recognises tall buildings demonstrating exemplary sustainability, environmental and building safety responsibility, and positive social impact.
Judges in this category will be looking for projects that go beyond compliance, setting new benchmarks for environmentally responsible, safe, and socially beneficial tall buildings. The focus is on holistic approaches that balance ecological performance, occupant wellbeing, and community contribution. Key areas of consideration include:
• Environmental sustainability: Innovative strategies for energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, carbon footprint minimisation, and climate resilience.
• Building safety and resilience: Implementation of rigorous safety measures, fire protection, structural robustness, and emergency preparedness to protect occupants and the wider community.
• Social impact and community contribution: Designs that positively affect local communities, provide public amenities, or enhance social inclusivity and wellbeing.
• Health and occupant wellbeing: Incorporation of indoor environmental quality, access to daylight, ventilation, and spaces that promote mental and physical health.
• Innovation in responsible design: Creative solutions that integrate sustainable, resilient, and safe practices without compromising architectural quality or functionality.
• Lifecycle and long-term legacy: Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and responsibility throughout the building’s full lifecycle, from design and construction to operation and maintenance – taking into account circular design and design for deconstruction.
